So this was another great weekend! For starters, I finally got some sleep!! Sad when that is part of my "weekend fun", isn't it? But it's the truth! I totally crashed out on friday night, and woke up feeling truely rested on Saturday morning. I managed to talk Courtney into coming to the Cocoa Daisy class with me on Saturday afternoon. Truely, it didn't take much arm twisting! So we headed on over, and had a fun couple of hours at Jill's fabulous house. I love getting together with these girls to create. It's just a fun exchange of ideas and projects. I always wish they were MUCH longer.
[Quick break outside...I think Jill's poor husband was handed closed to 15 cameras...like we can't share, right?!]
I got started on a fun little mini album of pictures that Michelle and Lisa took while I was on vacation in Germany a few summers ago. I'll save the full story for when I post the mini...hoping to get it done this week!
Then on Sunday morning, I did something I have never done before. I got up on a Sunday at 5am, and I did not have a flight to catch. No, Casey and I drove out to Coburg for the annual Coburg Antique Fair. We had talked about going a couple of months ago, and then when it got coordinated with the Come Play crew, we were ready for a good day! We met up with Ali, Jill , Tricia and Emily and a couple of the other girls.
[Before dawn break...armed with coffee and hand-carts - no one remembered flashlights!!- we were off!!]
It didn't take long before Casey found her big find of the day, an awesome desk.
[Look at that proud smile!]
I found another cool type drawer- which has already found a spot on a wall in my hallway! (Love it!!) I also picked up a crate as a magazine rack in my travel room. I was hoping for something more international- but the one I liked (and happens to match my entire color scheme) is from a dairy near Tillamook! Oh well.
[Yep, it's already hanging....can't wait to fill it with pictures. That wall space has been hurting for that perfect something...and this is it!]
[This crate makes me smile. The colors couldn't have been more perfect for that room!]
My other finds included some halloween decorations and a cool old record album book...I have mini-book plans for that one!
At "lunch time" (it was actually about 10 am!) we met up to share our finds and fuel up for the second part of the search!
[Show and Tell Time!]
[Ali showing off her new baby scale!]
[And how cute is Emily's new hat?!]
As we were standing around, I hear a "hello, person who's blog I stalk!" I got to meet Jessica ! Funny how you can get to know all sorts of things about a person and thier lives...and never have met! So we got to meet. And what a sweetheart!
[And she found these SUPER cute little egg cups!! I think there was something about almost hurting Emily to get at them!]
[Jill and Emily....all smiles!]
[Me and Jill...we actually managed a picture with either of us blinking]
And it was a big day for Casey. I'll leave her to post the story of how and why on her own blog...but will share the picture of a girl who has finally registered to vote for the very first time in her life!!
[Yeah Casey!!]
And when Simon and Chris joined us, Simon was pretty stoked about the globe, with a planet plate, that Ali found for him. Sadly I missed the "oh wow" as she pulled it out, but caught the last bit of the bright smile on that cute kid's face!
A quick group shot....
[And a couple of finds...Emily's cool red stool, Jill's fun baskets, Ali's statements paper bin, and Jessica's bowling pin!!]
And Emily's not in the picture...because here's where she is...
[Thanks for taking all those pictures Emily!!]
Casey and I walked around for another couple of hours...made a couple more fun finds...and then headed back into town. Talk about tired. I barely made it into my bedroom before I had to take a little nap yesterday afternoon!
And then...after I got up, rested and energized, and feeling totally creative, I tackled a complete re-do of my art studio!! I forgot to take before pictures...nothing too spectacular...but I moved EVERYTHING. My studio looks totally diffrent, and I love it!! Plus I got to work some fun other pieces that I've acquired into that room. Excited to get the last few pieces in place...and posting pictures!
All in all, a perfect creative weekend!

How fun!!! It looks like the weather was divine & you all scored some awesome stuff!!!

Hey Sarah
Wow! I just caught up on your blog and I love the music and all the summer photos you posted. Since I saw you last year, I got a great job in Stuttgart at an international school and moved in with Fabian again. I am finally starting to like Germany (although working with a bunch of ex-pat teachers helps me feel much more at home here). When will you be back over here?
I love all of your beautiful Oregon photos. You have an eye for the natural beauty you can only find in the Pacific NW. Keep posting! It makes me happy to see glimpses of home more often.

Ohhhh, I am so glad that my bowling pin got so much press. I went back and bought 5 sisters for it. LOVE that drawer you found...perfect one for a special project. I hope to finish my book one day...maybe someday soon!
